ChicoCore · Studio + CAD/CAM browser demo

Make it yours.

Draw in Studio, prepare machining operations in CAD/CAM, and preview the same project. No export/import is needed between workspaces.

Open full workspace ↗Explore the samples ↓

Start in the workspace

Choose Open in the app’s top toolbar. The sample chooser offers three projects, each with a starter and a finished project. Choose Open from this device to reopen a downloaded .chicocam file. Files are processed in your browser, not uploaded.

A desktop or laptop with a mouse or trackpad is recommended. The full-workspace link removes the website framing; it does not change the editor’s toolbar or panel layout.

Choose your starting point

CH-01 · Merry & Bright · Personalize a sign

A Christmas sign with editable lettering, evergreens, a recessed border, hanging holes and a tabbed outside profile. Open the illustrated sign guide ↗

  1. Open CH-01 · Merry & Bright: finished project. Studio shows the artwork in color.
  2. Switch to CAD/CAM. Above Operations, choose Recalculate → Missing / outdated. Wait for all eight operations to calculate.
  3. Choose 3D, check All above the operation list, then Play visible. Pause or drag the playback slider to inspect the result. Choose Close playback to return to editing.
  4. For your own version, open the starter. In Studio’s Objects tab, find the lettering, select it, then use Edit text & font in Properties. Choose Apply; try Undo and Redo. Text in the drawing toolbar creates a new label. If playback is open, choose Close playback and Open to continue; your original project stays in its tab. Keep preview open cancels without losing the paused position.
FP-01 · Modular fixture plate

A 160 × 100 × 12 mm plate with a recess, center bore, mounting holes, slots and tabbed outside profile.

  1. Open FP-01: finished project. In CAD/CAM choose Calculate → Missing / outdated and wait for five calculated operations.
  2. Choose 3D → All → Play visible. Inspect the recess, holes, slots and outside profile. Holding tabs remain in the simulated outside cut.
  3. Open the starter to try your own operation. In Studio’s Objects list select 02 / Recess - 80 x 48 R6. Switch to CAD/CAM → Pocket, choose the DEMO 3 mm end mill, and use start depth 0, cut depth 3 mm and clearance 3 mm for this preview.
BG-02 · Bench setup gauge

A technical drawing with graduated holes, recessed seats, slots, a repeated scale, line engraving and a V-carved ring.

  1. Open BG-02: finished project. In CAD/CAM choose Recalculate → Missing / outdated to rebuild all six operations.
  2. Choose 3D → All → Play visible. Job lines help make shallow engraving visible; very narrow grooves can fall below the sampled stock-preview resolution.
  3. Open the starter to edit the drawing. Select a hole to change its diameter, or select a label and choose Edit text & font. Apply changes, then try Undo and Redo.
  4. To test export, choose Export → Multiple toolpaths → All calculated. Review the output format, then download the ZIP. The finished sample exports six G-code files plus SETUP.txt in operation order. Preview checkboxes control visibility, not export selection.

Save a copy you can reopen

Choose Download in the top toolbar to keep a .chicocam project file. Check your browser’s Downloads and keep that file. Starting a download does not prove that a file reached disk, so the app retains its unsaved-change warning.

Choose Open → Open from this device and select the downloaded file. Your artwork and operation settings return; use Calculate → Missing / outdated to rebuild calculated paths. Playback position and navigation are session controls.

Your browser, your working data

On a fresh browser library, the demo adds 60 cutters, including 43 V-bits. Existing libraries—including empty or unreadable ones—are never replaced. Cutters and recovery checkpoints stay in this browser’s local storage. Recovery is not a portable backup: clearing site data, switching browser profiles or using another device changes what is available.

If recovery is offered after reopening, choose Restore project to recover your edits. Do not discard work you want to keep. A storage conflict or error pauses recovery rather than overwriting another tab’s work.

What this demo does—and doesn’t do

Studio and CAD/CAM are available. Laser and hardware connectivity are unavailable. Sample cutters, operations and generated output are for workflow evaluation, not validated cutting instructions. Stock removal is an approximation, not machining-safety verification.

For a clearer view, finish playback before editing. Recalculate operations after changing their source shapes. Play visible requires calculated paths and at least one visible operation; an operation’s play triangle previews it directly.
